ABOUT THE CONTEST
Ah, the tomato–ripe, red, and juicy. It adds color to fresh summer salads and a little zip to a Bloody Mary at brunch. But what to do during the seasons when you can’t get good fresh tomatoes? We want to hear about the off-season tomato creations you prepare for family and friends as you wait patiently for summer and the next tomato harvest. Whether your secret ingredient is diced, fire-roasted, or some other canned tomato product, tell us about your unique recipe. Five winning entries will be selected by a panel of qualified judges shortly after the contest ends. The judges’ decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest. One entry per person.
Prizes: Each winner will receive a California- inspired gourmet Chef’s Bouquet Basket including cheeses and other delectable treats from the Golden State, as well as Muir Glen organic canned tomato products. The winning recipes will become part of the CHOW recipe network.
