Welcome to Planet Transformers! Welcome to GameSpy's newest site, PlanetTransformers! Here we will provide you with plenty of information about the film and new games, with an absolute minimum of blatant Decepticon bias. More >
After four or so stages, Transformers settles into a rhythm. Run through a few action scenes, check for any extra routes and shortcuts to unlock new nodes on the mission map, and square off against a boss Decepticon, such as Barricade or Megatron. (I doubt mentioning Megatron spoiled anything. If so, sorry.) And once the groove is realized, the game just sits there. And no point is it unplayable, but it's not a barn-burner either. I've complained in the last few Gameloft reviews -- such as Pirates of the Seven Seas -- that there is a formula they've settled into, and Transformers feels like an extension of the formula.

New Webgame From Mountain Dew 5:36 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News As part of its "Transform Your Summer" promotion, Mountain Dew has just unveiled Capture The Cube, a webgame that combines the stealth of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell with soda machines. Yes, finally!
You play as a transformer on a mission to capture the Allspark from a bunch of relocated mall security guards by sneaking around and avoiding detection (note the loud, clanging noises you make when you stomp around stealthily) and turning into a Mountain Dew machine when danger comes your way. When you're a soda machine, people drink from you and you get points for it. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Submit Your Questions For DeSanto And Murphy 5:21 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News IESB will be passing along 15 reader-submitted questions to Transformers producers Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy for an upcoming Q&A.; Want to find out why none of the bots have hair while in robot form even though today's technology could easily render a supple perm atop Bumblebee's head? Ask away, and be sure to send your question in by the deadline of June 10th.

Peter Cullen Interview 13:56 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News UGO sat down with Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime), to discuss the upcoming Transformers movie, coughing up blood while working on King Kong, and the rumors of a second and third Transformers:
UGO: Have you been contacted about sequels or have you heard any talk about two more movies?
PETER: As I understand, there will be two more after this, and I will be a part of it. That's the information that I've been given and that's what I'm led to believe, and that's what I signed on for, so hopefully this is going to be a success and will continue. I have no reason to think otherwise, because of the popularity status right now.
New Sector Seven Login 21:26 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News A downloadable "Transformers Theme 07" audio file on SectorSeven.org can now be accessed by entering the new login deceptibot. Big thanks go to the all-around awesome Transformers fansite Seibertron, particularly one of their visitors named Galvatron Prime who discovered the password.
If the movie continues to move towards us at this rate, by next week we'll pass the opening entirely and find out it was released last November.

Prime Vs. Bonecrusher Clip 20:16 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News Michael Bay has added a clip of Optimus Prime squaring off against Bonecrusher to his blog. If you go into the clip hoping for a heated but respectful autobot vs. decepticon debate on hard-hitting issues such as allspark reform and the proposed transforming tax (as I did), you'll be disappointed since it mostly features crazy action sequences.
AutobotsRollOut.com Launches 4:18 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News GM has launched AutobotsRollOut.com, a website highlighting the company's vehicles featured in the Transformers movie. There's some great content, including an Exclusive Footage section with five new clips worth checking out, Autobot profiles for Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz (with extensive vehicle stats and photo galleries for each bot), and a collection of wallpapers and buddy icons.
