(Non-Leaked) Footage of Halo 3 MP Maps Epitah and Last Resort 20:26 PST | mrtitan | Print News A Dutch TV show titled Gameking did a preview of two never (officially) before seen Halo 3 multiplayer maps: Epitah and Last Resort. The video footage is up on gametrailers, it's not the best quality and not all of the preview is in English, but it's definitely worth a watch.
Halo 3 Armor Changes are Cosmetic Only 13:48 PST | mrtitan | Print News Yesterday I made a news post that stated that the different types of Spartan Armor in Halo 3's multiplayer had different strenghts, weaknesses, and abilities. That was incorrect. The only difference in the various types of Spartan Armor is the appearance.
Here's a the quote from Bungie that reveals the Armor changes are cosmetic only (thanks to darkhammeredseh for the heads up):
Armor permutations and customization are a series of cosmetic changes to your Spartan that gives players another way to distinguish themselves from the pack in Halo 3's multiplayer.

Canadian Newspaper Reveals New Types of Halo 3 Armor 14:30 PST | mrtitan | Print News Apparently, the different types of multiplayer armor revealed in the Gamepro Halo 3 preview don't just vary visually, they also have different strenghts and weaknesses and roles. Here's an excerpt from the news story that was posted at Teamxbox which reveals some of the new types of armor:
The article on this Canadian newspaper revealed that there will be different armors for you to wear in Halo 3 multiplayer. The story revealed two of them; the CQB (close-quarters battle) and the EVA (extra-vehicular activity) armors. It seems you’ll be able to choose a certain type of battle armor for your Spartan to wear, with these armors providing certain strengths (ex: melee combat) while also make you more vulnerable in other areas as a required trade-off that assures a balanced gameplay.
It remains to be seen if there are more armor types.
Update: Since the newspaper is no longer on newstands, I made a thread that contains close-up scans of the 3-page article (56k and spoiler warning). The article contains info and screenshots of never before seen multiplayer maps and vehicles in addition to some tiny tidbits about Halo 3's campaign.

Halo 3 Box Art Revealed? 22:27 PST | mrtitan | Print News Amazon.com has recently put up Halo 3 box art in their Halo 3 listing and there's a big argument going around the internet on whether it is the official box art or just some placeholder that Amazon quickly put together. Save Microsoft Game Studios watermark across the whole cover, I think the box art looks pretty impressive and could possibly be the real thing....but i'll leave it for you guys to decide....
Gamepro Issue Reveals New Info About Halo 3 22:14 PST | mrtitan | Print News The latest issue of GamePro, which should be hitting newstands any day, contains a 14 page article on Halo 3 that goes into detail about new vehicles (Brute Chopper), equipment (Radar Jammer), weapons, and 3 never before seen multiplayer maps. The article also discusses new character customization options in Halo 3's multiplayer that allows you to wear some crazy-looking Spartan armor.
