Sticky: A Time To Travel New Roads[ 1 Comment ] Print News | Mail News "Well the film is running
'til the film runs out
There's no point of focus
It zooms in and out
It's information
And it leaves no mark
It's just as permanent
as painting in the iron age"

I've enjoyed the journey up to and including now - as a Site Manager and as a member of the AA community, I've had a wonderful time from Beta to Present. Unfortunately, it is time to move on and to do so means bringing AAVault to an end. All of our content will still be archived and available, and the links below are to each section or database of all the information, interviews, movies, and content brought together by both staff and the amazing people of the Auto Assault community.
Thank you for your support and contributions to the site, and I hope to see you in the Wastelands!
Q: Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? A: Yes I will always keep my Wasp that Doc Gonzo made for me in my first clan the Hand of Fate. It has Mil spec MKI and Performance brakes and generally rocks the house.
Q: What's your favorite tactic to use against the denizens of the Central Wastelands? A: Sneak up on them and blow them into itty bitty pieces.
Myra is a Mutant Avenger that hails from the Knights of the Unforsaken. A hobbyist VJ that's into politics, and also has a good sense of humour. :) Read more about the player of Myra HERE.
I'm not sure why I had such a mental lapse, but for some reason each week I'd see the BRONZE members in the submissiion section and say to myself, "Nah, there's too many BRONZE on the list anyway. It wasn't until a recent post on the official boards where I alluded to that, and someone pointed out... there are no BRONZE members in the Road Warrior list! My apologies to the clan for the oversight! Here to help remedy that is the new
Road Warrior of the Week... Bilal Kenna!
Q: Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? A: I still have my original Atlas GT starter vehicle. I think I moved onto a Helios within the first 2 hours of playing Bilal, but I just cant bring myself to get rid of such a low-mileage vehicle.
Q: What is your favorite NPC? A: I'm really fond of that hottie Piper in Scav Alley.
Keeper of the BRONZE archives ingame, and a U.S. Mint Police Officer in real life, the player of Bilal also likes to make videos, both of his bike excursions with his buddies and of his cruising around in AA. Find out more about him HERE!

"Bilal was no kid. He had spent the better part of his 35 years serving on his Ark's security Force, and Hestia had rewarded him for his service in the form of advanced Commando training. He was trained for the past seven years to be a forward mobile combat operative for Hestia. So, it was a huge surprise to his supervisors and instructors when he applied for Freelance status at the conclusion of his training program." -BRONZE Dossier: COM BilalKenna
Google Ad Help[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: General The Vault Network is asking the community to help us preserve our Don't Destroy the Game philosophy and mantra. Our parent company IGN has partnered with the good guys over at Google to run its "Google Ads" across all of IGN's sites, which includes the Vaults. With that comes the chance of Google running a gold seller-type ad that might slip by the existing filter we help set up to ensure these ads are blocked. Because we told Google that these gold farmer type ads suck and don't belong on the Vault Network. They were more than happy to work with us to keep such ads off our sites. So, we will be watching to make sure we remove any that happen to slip through and muck up our stuff!
There is a gold lining to this situation (pun intended!). We have a system in place where any community member can submit an ad they might see via a simple and easy web form. You only need to provide one of two pieces of information: Name of Ad and/or the Link for the Ad -- that's it. Click here to learn more and where to submit.
AUSTIN, Texas, November 20, 2006 FBI Agents working in conjunction with officials from NCsofts® North American business successfully closed down a computer game operation alleged to be reaping profits by providing a fraudulent service to its players. The operation was closed down after multiple raids and interviews were conducted in various cities from California to Virginia.
Federal search warrants were served on owners of L2Extreme who were also questioned during the raid. L2Extreme was providing its users with unauthorized service and code for NCsofts online computer game, Lineage® II. The warrants enabled officials to halt L2Extremes operations while collecting further evidence in the course of the investigation.
The FBI estimates L2Extreme has up to 50,000 active users on its service. NCsoft estimates that monetary losses and damages from the operation are costing NCsoft millions of dollars per year.
L2Extreme advertised on its website, www.l2extreme.com, that more than half million registered users had subscribed to play.
Operations like this essentially are defrauding customers by stealing from companies like NCsoft, said Matt Esber, NCsoft North America general counsel. In the end those losses impact our customer support, product development, operational areas and ultimately they impact our player communities, most of which are trying to play games legitimately. This group in particular was downloading our version of the Lineage II software from our servers, costing us close to a million dollars in realized bandwidth costs during the period it was operational.
Weve taken this action because we strongly believe in defending the intellectual property rights that weve worked so hard to create. Were extremely pleased that the FBI has worked with us so diligently to bring this particular case to its current state and we want our customers to understand that we will continue to fight similar operations in the future in order to maintain the integrity of all NCsoft games.
The investigation into the L2Extreme operation is ongoing.

Q: How did you choose your main character's name? A: I like names with meaning, I have used various names for various mmos to meet the character type/race for them. Some examples are Delirium, Lucidity, Euphoria etc...
Dissolute meaning Lax in Morals I thought sounded good for an Agent, stealther type.
Q: What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? A: Agents are very verstatile, you can go various ways with builds and I have tried many trust me ;) I like the fact you can pass by a group of enemies if you are desperatly outnumbered and not feeling suicidal ( which isn't too often for me ask most humans active in GZ ;) ) Likewise I like the fact you can generally run if you are outnumbered, or outgunned also. Along with of course the scouting abilities, and sniper style.
A member of TSL that hails from the UK, read all about Dissolute HERE.

"What we found, though was that capturing the Outposts wasnt too hard for players, but holding them was. There just didnt seem to be enough players to go around defending all the Outposts. This made the situation discouraging for many. They were getting their tokens at a painfully slow rate, especially those belonging to a race with few players active on Ground Zero.
Since our players are smart, they decided to remedy the situation themselves. They got together and managed to form a truce. Each race received a third of the Outposts to capture and hold. The other races wouldnt intrude, and thus everyone could gain tokens at a satisfactory rate. In fact, players could simply leave their cars parked in Ground Zero, and get tokens without lifting a finger. Ingenious!
Well, this wasnt exactly ideal. In Auto Assault, weve built the game around the undying hatred that our three races have for each other. And yet, in the final map, instead of a raging war, we had a three-way truce and many of our players not even at their keyboards! Not exactly the climax we had intended. Things had to change.
