“Zunami” could be best described as claustrophobic. It’s not quite what I’d refer to as a bottle episode but much of this week’s story is contained to a few sets while Murphy is given the opportunity to wade through the zombie hoards. With a name like “Zunami” you may have expected a wave of zombie action and mayhem. Instead, we ended up with a rather disappointing experience.
Citizen Z’s encounter with a cosmonaut named Yuri started off as an interesting way to give is a little more insight into what life is like alone with food to last for decades. The problem is that it was obvious very quickly that Yuri wasn’t really there and the entire storyline ultimately had no bearing on anything whatsoever. We essentially spent the entire episode waiting for Simon to come to his senses and figure out the air filtration system was malfunction. So the entire encounter with Yuri, while cute, was ultimately fruitless from a narrative perspective. They have yet to find anything of substance for Citizen Z to do and this episode is no different.
]]>According to Deadline, legal comedy Bad Judge starring Kate Walsh logged an extremely low 0.9 rating for adults 18-49 last night. Romantic comedy A to Z had it even worse at a 0.7. That wasn't helped by their low-rated lead-in, The Biggest Loser, which only pulled in a 1.1 rating.
NBC already has a replacement lined up for the 9pm hour slot, with the network's The Blacklist set to move there after the Super Bowl.

]]>The 10-minute-long clip starts with four player characters in a car, driving along a country road, passing what may be the first gas station in Final Fantasy history. Other cars are on the road as well, and they look surprisingly Earthly in design, as opposed to the future-fantasy style that's typified Final Fantasy in recent years.
Eventually, the foursome pulls over and heads out on foot, travelling through a huge valley teeming with wildlife. Eventually their stroll takes them by a lake where towering creatures resembling dinosaurs were seen grazing, as well as a fairly expansive forest. No combat is featured in the video, though many of the creatures throughout the walkthrough appeared to be aggressive, particularly as day cycled to night towards the later parts. The piece ends as the four characters are making their way back to their ride, when some imposing looking aircraft fly slowly past them, landing in the grass up ahead.
]]>The range of abilities looks pretty impressive, ranging from your standard direct damage spells, to some more interesting buffs and weapon skills. One character, Seven, is shown using a segmented sword/whip similar to that of Soul Calibur's Ivy. It allows her to cover wide areas with her melee attacks, which she can make from an appreciable distance due to the extendable nature of the weapon. One bare-knuckled fighter was able to enter a buffed state in which he could quickly blur his way from foe to foe like The Flash, obliterating enemies with one or two punches upon arrival.

Shock Till You Drop says the movie is a prequel to the 1974 original that "finds the Leatherface character in his teenage years. He resides in a mental institution until he joins a pack of fellow patients who all break out and go on the run from the authorities."
]]>For a game with such a big world, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas starts in a pretty personal place. In the first mission, Carl Johnson silently mourns his recently deceased mother. Thanks to the upgraded textures and higher resolution (all the way up to 720p!), I could see pain in his face that wasn't apparent a decade ago. In the second, CJ reunites with his estranged brother and sister, but the audio cut out after a few seconds, interrupting the bittersweet moment. That's a pretty good encapsulation of what this re-release of San Andreas brings to the table: it’s the same great story and setting, bolstered by relatively sharp visuals but also hamstrung by new technical issues.
]]>A couple of pivotal casting descriptions have come out regarding the new Supergirl TV series, which CBS has given an official series commitment.
Based on the characters from DC Comics, Supergirl will follow Kara Zor-El. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara escaped amid its destruction years ago. And since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin.
