Add a new section to configSections called sitemaps:
<configuration>
<configSections>
<section name="sitemaps" type="Newtonsoft.Sitemaps.SitemapSection"/>...
...
</configSections>

Then add a node as a peer of appSettings:

<sitemaps useFileModifiedDate="True"></sitemaps>
<appSettings />

Description:
In the WriteResult function of SitemapHandler there is an exception when a path can't load the path correctly. Putting it in a try catch and handling the exception case to mean no file present works well.

Hello, can your solution get productId's from a database and create links to add in the sitemap? So google bots can follow the database product links and index them?

Created Issue: 404 Errors

I have added the required items, and have gotten a 404 error code. Here is the current situation...

I am currently using VS 2008 (ASP.net 3.0 with VB) and I made a reference to the NewtonSoft.Sitemaps.dll file, I then added the below in my Web.Config I have added this to my handlers section
<handlers>
<add name="Sitemap" verb="*" path="sitemap.axd" type="Newtonsoft.Sitemaps.SitemapHandler, Newtonsoft.Sitemaps"/>

I have only 1 web.sitemap with registered items (example Below)

On a server with russian regional settings the Convert.ToDouble will fail. InvariantCulture should be used as an additional IFormatProvider parameter.

Where do I set this to true? You said it goes as a query string but I want to make sure it is really being set because it is not in the sitemap.axd.
