New Blog Entry @ the official blog Print News | Category: Media
PanKarol himself couldn't have come up with a more convoluted, yet superb to read blog entry, it seems. This time, devs decided to show us fans a bit of what's REALLY going on behind the scenes.
As you can see from the picture guys aren't all serious in CD Projekt Red. The picture we attached here is just a show of what their art department has come up for ROTWW newest graphics. They call it Geralt 2.0 and seem to be proud to have defiled the national treasure, which is witcher's manly features. But I myself hope to never, ever see Geralt dressed up like this in any upcoming The Witcher game!

New Poll! Print News | Category: General
In last month's poll we asked you about the future of ROTWW. After a not-so-frenzied voting, it became rather apparent that the Witcher (PC) fans are not going to get swayed by the swanky additions offered in console version. 31 of you went for 'The Witcher was so good nothing'll top it', 7 voters were of the opinion that there were precedents and Witcher may follow suit, while only one of you (we know who you are! :D) predicted bleak outlook for the original PC game.
Well, it's time for a new poll. In it you can decide which of the new features in the console version you are excited the most. Go forth, and VOTE! (but seriously, you don't need to click on any links, the poll is on the right-hand side of the page you're on now - under the ad!) -- Propheet @ 3:28 PSTNew additions in our mods and utilities databases! Print News | Category: ModificationsTwo new additions, a useful utility and a nice new sword model:

Since the community seems to struggle to find the outlet to their creativity, most likely due to the constraints of the official editor (D'Jinni), Michael DarkAngel, of The Brotherhood of the Realm decided to put a lot of his time and effort in this little jewel, the twMax Importer - a utility (well, just a script right now) that allows you to import models from the Witcher (including EE) into a format 3DSMax understands. Grab it here (or simply click on the pic!).

There have been other mods of this type, i.e. the ones that add some models into the game, there's no denying that. However, none have - until now - attempted to introduce references to other lores, the thing which devs of the Witcher didn't shun at all (just recall Dagon, or the Holy Grail!). J_Slash decided to pay hommage to the greatest fantasy story ever told by placing Anduril, the (Re-forged :D) Flame of the West, in Temeria. Players don't receive the new toy automatically - you'll have to encounter it during your many adventures as Geralt! Grab Anduril mod here

 | | | | | ROTWW Interview at IGN Print News | Category: General - Interviews
Ryan Geddes of IGN has recently posted an exclusive interview with Adam Badowski, lead developer for The Witcher: Rise of The White Wolf. The interview itself is focusing mainly on the basics behind The Witcher, and what the game is all about. While Adam doesn't reveal that many intrinsic details about the console version, at least nothing we didn't know already, its quite an interesting read - there're several confirmations to what have largely been rumors and suspicions.
Yet again devs are patting us reassuringly on the back and stating that the morally complex story, the essence of true-to-life RPG that made The Witcher stand out from all the rest, will not be changed. However, devs yet again state that the interface - and hence a lot of the game's stylings - will be thoroughly reworked. For instance, every button on either of the consoles' controllers will be used in order to select skills, items, journal entries etc..

 | | | | | Another ROTWW preview Print News | Category: Media
Polish console gamer's magazine 'Engarde' has devoted an entire issue to The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. In it, CD-Projekt's Adam Badowski tells a bit about the project and the major differences between the console and PC versions.
The issue deals mostly with stuff we already know - i.e. specifics behind the console production (it's hardly a port at this point) of the Witcher. Adam Badowski, project manager for ROTWW at CDProjekt Red studios, told 'Engarde' readers about basic additions to the gameplay and possible enhancements to the original, including infos on 'DaVinci' engine. Unfortunately, to read the interview for yourself you'd have to speak Polish and come across the issue on paper. Luckily, Engarde has a webpage and there's an online store where you can purchase one of the first deatailed interviews about ROTWW in print - worldwide!
Engarde is one of the first Polish magazines devoted entirely to game consoles. It focuses on the titles available in Poland, but offers a unique insight into global trends in console games and consoles themselves. Poland is still a relatively undiscovered land as far as console gaming goes, and up till 2008 very few titles were specifically produced for Polish audiences. With ROTWW coming to market in 2009, Poland has another chance to make a huge blip on gaming radars the world over.
