Humpday Challenge: HBO vs Bungie[ Comment ] 13:28 PST | mrtitan | Print News | Category: Halo: 3In this week's Humpday Challenge, KP, Louis Wu, Konrad, and Free2BMe of HBO faced off against Frankie, Luke Smith, Larz, and Shishka. Bungie won the first two matches, but HBO won the 3rd match and the "exhibition" rematch, so I guess there was no true winner this week.
If Not Bungie, Then Who?[ 8 Comments ] 22:52 PST | mrtitan | Print News | Category: GeneralLast week, Stephen Totilo of MTV put up a blogpost about who he thinks should make a Halo 4 if Bungie did not. I disagree with some of his studios and odds, but he does bring up a pretty interesting point....Who should make Halo 4 if Bungie decided not to?
-Big Team Battle matches are now 16 players.
-Frequency of Shotty-Sniper in Team Slayer Playlist has been greatly reduced.
-When players veto Shotty Snipers, the game that results from the veto will not be Shotty Snipers.
-In one-sided VIP matches, the attacking team will now see a waypoint for the VIP they are hunting.
-In Lone Wolves, Slayer gametypes will appear more frequently.
Update: Apparently not in Europe though. Or atleast not in Sweden.

Bungie Announces Independence[ 1 Comment ] 10:45 PST | mrtitan | Print News | Category: GeneralBungie Studios has announced today that they have now become a privately held independent company. Although Microsoft no longer owns Bungie, they still has close ties with the developer and will continue to publish future Halo games and other new IP created by Bungie.
Here's the Press Release:
"KIRKLAND, Wash. Oct. 5, 2007 Bungie and Microsoft Corp. today announced a plan for Bungie Studios, the developers of Microsofts Halo franchise, to become a privately held independent company, Bungie, LLC, in which Microsoft will hold a minority equity interest. As part of this transaction, Bungie and Microsoft have forged a deep and long-term development and publishing relationship focused on the continued success of the Halo franchise. It is also the intent of both parties to expand their partnership to include new IP created and owned by Bungie.......
Throughout the day Bungie will be adding questions and answers to their Weekly What's Update feature that will clarify some things regarding Halo 3, the Halo franchise as a whole, and Bungie's relationship with Microsoft.

Videos of Halo DS?[ Comment ] 21:26 PST | mrtitan | Print News | Category: GeneralFor a while now, there have been rumors floating around about a Halo DS game once being in the works. IGN editor Matt Casamassina even made a post in his blog in January claiming that he's played it before. Well, now he's put up some videos of Halo DS in action and it looks pretty good!
Unfortunately, he claims that "the game will never see the light of day" though it was once in development by a big name studio and publisher. Thanks to HBO for the heads up.
