The latest version of Battlefield Pirates 2, a full conversion mod of Battlefield 2, is now locally mirrored (thanks: Blues). The general theme of the game is two rivaling clans, the Skull Clan and the Peglegs. These two pirate clans have been clashing at each other's throats for years and over the course of time, they have evolved with new weaponry to kill one another.

Microsoft Game Studios has released a new trailer from Mass Effect, the science-fiction action and role-playing game developed by Bioware and due to ship on November 23rd. Developed exclusively for Xbox 360, Mass Effect features a rich, engaging story line with morally complex decisions, real-time, squad-based combat, character customization and deep role-playing systems, customizable weapons and vehicles, credible digital actors, and more.

D3Publisher of America (D3PA) has released a new trailer from Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, showcasing this puzzle game which incorporates strategy, role-playing elements and a storyline, featuring even a multiplayer mode. Available now for DS and PSP, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords will be launched this fall, for Wii, PS2, PC and Xbox 360.

Pirates Vikings and Knights II is a Half-Life 2 modification based on three teams from times past locked in a never-ending battle for wealth, dominance, and power. This mod pits each team against one another in a variety of different scenarios enabling a varied, strategic, and fun gameplay. Each team has its overall strengths and weaknesses, as well as each member within those teams contributing special abilities for the success or failure of each goal. Auran revealed details about the changes they will be implementing for Fury in the coming weeks. At the game launch, everyone will start with 1,000 Equip points and will have a UAA option from Day One. In addition, Auran will bring everyone onto a single Realm and teaching the Matchmaker to understand that Premades don’t like playing against PUGs. Koei released new X360 and PS3 screens from Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, so head over to our gallery and check them out. The game puts you in the role of a rogue commander and gives you direct control of mercenary units that you must use in order to fight with the English and French forces. You can even ally with either the French or English on a battle-by-battle basis, depending on the mission requirements. Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War will be released on November 2nd.

Sony Online Entertainment announced that Pirates of the Burning Sea will be released on January 22nd. Set in the Caribbean during the 1720s, Pirates of the Burning Sea offers a variety of fighting styles to suit anyone's taste. Players can choose between three basic schools of fighting: the classic scoundrel's dirty tricks, the formal yet deadly art of fencing, or the wild-eyed, free-wheeling use of small swords and daggers. Through the use of an innovative balance-based attack system, players gain advantage based on position and initiative. Avoiding the typical fire-and-forget MMORPG combat systems, swashbuckling in Pirates of the Burning Sea puts the control in the player's hands. Much like our celebrated ship combat system, swashbuckling provides opportunities for even the newest player to prevail in battle, allowing cunning and tactics to take a front seat to character level and experience. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that a new PlayStation 3 version will be released on Wednesday in Europe. Priced just €399, this version comes with a 40GB HDD, just 2 USB ports and no multi-card reader. The new model is no longer backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 titles. Excalibur Publishing anounced they will publish Bus Driver in the UK and that its release date is planned for October 26th. Nexon Group has released new details on the monsters from MapleStory, this completely free to play online game available now across Europe. MapleStory is a unique 2D, side-scrolling, massively multiplayer online role-playing game where players can enjoy a multitude of different skills, spells and abilities, as well as numerous community features, including detailed friends lists, communication through humorous character animations and the facility to form Guilds and adventure parties. Electronic Arts has relesed new screenshots from EA Playground, an all-new intellectual property in development at EA Canada for Wii and DS and due to ship on October 23, 2007 in North America and on November 2, 2007 in Europe. The game, which will be available at an MSRP of $39.99 in the United States, will ship to retail stores packed with a fun assortment of playground games, including classics like Dodgeball and Tetherball, as well as some over-the-top, fantasy games like Kicks and Dart Shootout. EA Playground is a compilation of game designed to fully capitalize the unique control mechanics of both the Wii and the Nintendo DS. Players can swing the Wii remote to excel in tetherball, blow into the Nintendo DS mic to fire spitballs or battle their friends and family in dodgeball.

Australian developer Fuzzyeyes Studio released new artworks from Edge of Twilight for the PC and X360, a third-person action adventure fantasy title set in a world where the night and day are torn apart. Namco Bandai released a new batch of screenshots from Ace Combat 6, a game which will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 on October 23rd, priced $59.99. In Ace Combat 6 you can pilot authentic aircrafts like the F-15 E Strike Eagle and the F-22 Raptor either in single or in multiplayer over Xbox Live. Besides the deathmatch and team deathmatch modes, a co-op mode will be available.
