This October 5th, Funcom will be doing an Age of Conan presentation at The eXperience in the Vallhall Arena in Oslo. Erling Ellingsen and Pharamond will be presenting Friday evening on the big screen. They'll also be doing a Q&A; afterwards, with questions collected by Gamer.no.

Joel Bylos may not be a name that many are familiar with, but MMORPG.com attempts to rectify that situation with a developer profile of Funcom's Age of Conan Quest Designer. The Aussie got his start, like many of us, on the C=64 where he fell in love with gaming. If you live in Oslo and are looking to break in to the game industry then Funcom has a number of open positions posted in their jobs section. Looks like they are beefing up hiring for their next title, The Secret World; and they are also seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (among other positions).

MPOGD.com was in attendance at AGDC where they had the opportunity to chat a bit with Funcom's Jorgen Tharaldsen. First they talk about Anarchy and the game's new features, new subscription models and micro-transactions and in-game advertising. Moving on to Age of Conan they talk a bit about the female models and the ability to undress and walk around half-naked, PvP matches, death penalties, bind points and more. Finally, they speak a tiny bit on Funcom's next project, Secret World.

Joystiq is reporting a "rumour" that Chinese MMO maker, Shanda, is banning male players from playing female avatars in their online RPG King of the World. Word on the virtual street is that female characters will have to prove their sex via webcam. Sounds pretty hard to believe, Joystiq has put out some feelers to Shanda's PR for confirmation of this rumoured policy.

IGN Outback has a new interview up on the subject of MMO Fraud. In a recent report virtual worlds were said to be a target for thieves and con artists whom make real money from stealing virtual property. Some of this is said to be done through social engineering, some through the use of malicious software (malware, worms, password malware), game server vulnerabilities and other type of attacks. In the new interview at IGN they speak with the author of the report about companies involved, the types of items being stolen and more.
