This week's Forum Digest is up!
"Another great week on the LOTRO Message Boards! This week's Digest brings you many surprisingly thought provoking topics. What is the real reason behind the controversial "Chick play"? How could Dora's Chickens in the Shire be related to Carn Dum? With Book 10 coming this month we're also blessed to have many great topics of discussion on incoming changes and future game updates. Enjoy!"

 | | | | | Topic of the Week - Expansion = Cap Raise? Print News | Category: Site News
Monday's are Topic of the Week days, and you lot know what that means. Here's a brief bit of this week's: I expect that our level cap in Middle-earth will rise, likely as we workout way east and south. We can't expect to take on the Dark Lord'svilest armies at the same strength we are able to take on the rabbletossed out into Eriador can we? But when will a level cap happen? Whenwill it be called for? When will it not seem like just a ploy to keepus playing? So what do you guys think? When is the time right for a level cap raise? Let us know on the boards!

Screenshot of the week ~ August 6th 2007 Print News | Category: Community - General
Hello! Welcome my friends to the screenshot of the week! This week I have something very nice in store for you all. It was taken by Rivan Greystar of the Windfola server after falling off one of the bridges in Duillind.
This happens to bring back a lot of fond memories of my early noob days. Running around Duillond. Falling many times off of the many bridges that are ridden all over that city. I hated falling into a place where it was hard to get out of, I would have to work and work to get out. Turbine definalty did a good thing when they implemented the "/stuck" command.
The shot that I show here is just spectacular, I have always loved the architeture of the Elven cities and the night sky. It's some of the best in any game that I played so far. Granted I have not played that many, but still, it's some of the best! I remember my first time being in LoTRo. I was so shocked to see how beautiful some of the places just in Ered Luin were. I though, nah, there can't be anything better than this, but I was wrong. Especially when I made it into the Shire and then finally onto Rivendell. Turbine definatly has done a great job with the graphics on this game.
What are some of your favorite places in game that you have discovered so far? I have mine, on the road to the Misty Mountains, there is a look out point carved into the side of the mountain that shows a great view of the Rivendell Valley, but honestly, I think I like everything in this game!
As always my friends, you too can submit a screen shot to me! Community Submissions or email them to angelina_rayne@vaultnetwork.com. Send them in, and we'll feature them on the front page of the Lord of the Rings Online Vault. I would LOVE to see what you all have stored up! Shots of good, shots of bad, and everything else in between! As always, laugh, love, and most of all, have lots of fun!! See you all next week!

The Children of Hurin
Most of the kinship were not heard from this week. Navarre has sent many of them on long explorations to discover more of the war. Charisma however has vanished with no trace. As he knows little of this woman, this makes him uneasy considering their last encounter. Ardelle has been with her fatehr helping him on the farm but the most worrying news was of Fate. Navarre reached word that she was critically wounded during an expedition into Anmar. Her fellowship managed to get her to Rvendelle but she was barely alive.
Navarre rode at great speed to Rivendelle to find her but her wounds were so severe that he was forbidden to see her. This was heartbreaking news, Navarre's best hunter lay near death and he felt so helpless.
Word finally reached him that Fates condition was stable but she would need around the clock monitoring and she would not be able to travel for at least a month. Until such time, she must be kept isolated if her wounds are to heal fully.
Navarre returned to Bree with word of Fates condition to Ardelle. They now wait to see if their close companion will make a full recovery.
Ardelle and Navarre discussed Yariels arrival. Ardelle seemed worried and Navarre tried to satisfy her concern that his old love and pupil would not drive them apart. Navarre nor Ardelle has yet to run into Yariel yet but neither of them are relishing this prospect.
That's it for the news today, have a great week and as always..keep an eye out for Sauron!!

 | | | | | CVG : Jon Blyth Interviews Jeffrey Steefel Print News | Category: General - Community
MonsterPlay, WoW, How True to Tolkien, and Updates... several topics covered in CVG's interview with Steefel:
Steefel: Monster Play is going to be more and more about giving monsters their own kind of advancement paths. Even right now, you're collecting destiny points that you can spend on buffs for your monster. On your character, when you click on the tab that says 'War', it displays all your monsters - we'll be adding the ability to examine that on another player. This way, your monsters are more a part of your overall character, and you can see who's pretty accomplished at the Monster Play and PVP.

Exploring Middle-Earth: Scary Print News | Category: General
In the northernmost regions of the Shire's Eastfarthing, the small village of Scary can be found tucked into the southern edge of shadowed hills that run east to the River Brandywine. None can be sure of the origins of the region's name, but the labyrinth of twisting caves beneath the Hills of Scary, known to most as the Brockenbores, as well as the mysterious way the shadows seem to cling to those hills in the evening hours, might give the traveler in this region cause to reconsider their choice of path. Hello friends! Welcome once more to the Screenshot of the Week! Today I bring to you a screenshot taken by my character Missey on the Elendilmir server.
The Evil Empire was having a blast just running through Fornost when we got to the last tower. We were going to do the quest "A collar for the King". We got all ready, ate some food, had a few laughs, then got ready to lay down collar and call the big guy himself out. Well he spawned along with the adds that come with him, but he decided to play nice today! No good for us! We were looking forward to putting this doggy back where he belonged! Well, needless to say, we waited a bit, nothing happened. Decided to go up and kill the big guy upstairs, then came back down thinking we could start all over.... He had other plans! He was still there, stinking up the whole room and drooling all over everything still! We couldnt get him to budge! One of the guys even brought out some good cuts of beef, but alas that didnt work either lol! So finally, we bugged it. We had to wait a bit before everything was taken care of so we decided to have a little fun with him while he was still playing nice. Lets just say, emotes can be GREAT lol! Well after a few minutes of hooting it up, he came decided he didnt want to play nice anymore, but, we didnt like that idea too much and quickly took care of him. Lots of fun on that quest!
I know this game is still new, it not even being out a year, but I have to say, seeing bugs like this just makes for something a bit more interesting in game. I know some people get angry and upset over these things, but I have come to learn and at times love the bugs that are still being worked on and such. They make for some interesting times with your fellow! I just hope you make the best out of them as I do!
As always my friends, you too can submit a screen shot to me! Community Submissions or email them to angelina_rayne@vaultnetwork.com. Send them in, and we'll feature them on the front page of the Lord of the Rings Online Vault. I would LOVE to see what you all have stored up! He's very sorry for the "L33t sp34k", but he swears there's a point behind the post. Have a look at the Topic of the Week: So this week's topic is in line with that precisely: how come the other guys aren't doing this? I'm sure you know who I'm talking about, but it seems to me a lot of the quabbling could be done away with if something similar was done over there.
