Alien Carnage Released!
5/25/07 9:17 PST | 3D Realms News | Abe Rahey
One of 3D Realms' old school games has now been released as freeware and is available online in all its glory for your entertainment. A lot of content about the history of the game, and their decision to release it as freeware, can be found in their announcement. A tidbit can be found below:

Back on October 10, 1993, we released a title that was unique in our company history. It was the only game that ever got released twice - each time with two different names. That's right, I'm talking about Halloween Harry, which was later renamed and re-released as Alien Carnage in the fall of 1994.
. . .
As with a lot of our games from this era, time and computers marched on, passing the game by. Alien Carnage had issues with running under Windows, and as such was discontinued from our product line on April 21, 2000 due to the aforementioned technical problems. It's been dormant with us since then. There actually was a sequel produced entitled "Zombie Wars" (which we didn't have anything to do with). But today we're here to bring the character of Halloween Harry back. Today we're releasing Alien Carnage into freeware with the permission of John Passfield. John participated in our Legacy Interview series last year, and at that time was not ready to release Alien Carnage as freeware. But now he is, and here's the game!

Planet Transformers Launches!
5/16/07 5:06 PST | Community News | Abe Rahey
Planet Transformers, the site dedicated to all that is Transformers (including the upcoming major motion picture), has been launched in all its glory! Here's a little bit of what they had to say in their official announcement:

Welcome to PlanetTransformers, your source for information on the upcoming film and games. We will be providing you with everything we hear, when we hear it, so that you don't have to risk your radio growing legs and walking away while you're trying to listen to it. Coming soon will be walkthroughs and other helpful tidbits once the games are released. Until then, watch the headlines with us and drool!

Now that you're here, have a few links to get you started. First, there are our sections on the new movie and the g1 animated series to catch you up, and our character database to remind you about who's who. Take a shot at the Chevy Autobots game while you're at it!

Be sure to head on over to Planet Transformers and check them out!
