Predator's Update 15:20 PST | Dario | Print News EALA's Predator has posted the following in regards to recent multiplayer issues and the upcoming v1.04 patch:
Alright, an update here from the battle-lines.
Battlecast Archive matches are back up and working! We corrected an error on the back-end, so now all of your archive matches are available to click and boot up, start checking out all the hot matches!
Stat Update - So we are fully aware of the stats and ranking issue and are working hard to address it. Stats are not getting updated quickly enough. Do not worry, will resolve this. Right now is more or less practice time. We have not initiated ladder tournaments or seasons or prizes and will not do so until we are comfortable with everything. We are close, but do not worry.
We are also very close to releasing patch 1.04, what we hope to be the last of our emergency patches until we release the first major bug/balance patch (also heavily in the works).
Patch 1.04 is going to help address the audio-video sync error, further crashes within the lobbies, desyncs related to watching Battlecast matches, and localizing the online multiplayer lobbies.
Please note - the stats issue is not a patch issue, that can be fixed without a patch.
This should help clear up any confused and update you guys on the current situation, thanks!

Disconnectors - Beware! 14:35 PST | Dario | Print News Most of you who play online have probably experienced disconnects during a match. Sure, it can be due to connection problems, computer crashes, but a more serious issue is when someone disconnects on purpose to avoid losing a match. EALA's Predator had the following to say about it:
We are working on the technology behind disconnecting and the rules associated, but here is some different thinking on the matter:
It is very tough to tell who disconnected when it happens and it could have happaned for a million different reasons. Theoretically, in a 1v1 match, neither person knows why someone disconnected. Was it their ISP? Did their computer crash? Did they really pull the plug?
What we are working on is a STRICT rule that would penalize players and freeze accounts for accumulating a certain amount of disconnects. If you have a few in your profile, do not worry, you're not in danger, but someone with quite a few, say at least 10 or more, they are in danger.
There is the law of habitual averages. If you get disconnected on once, the law of averages says it may happen to you again, but not nearly as frequently as somedone who is INTENTIONALLY doing it. They will get caught sooner than later and be penalized. So what I am saying is, we are taking a hard stance on disconnects and will not let the issue corrupt our ladder system.
If someone disconnects, their win streak should be halted, that is a website bug we are fixing in the next couple of days. If someone disconnects, it does not help them on the ladder. You have to win to move up the ladder and if you aren't winning, you will start falling.
If someone is a disconnecter, they WILL BE CAUGHT.
Reminder: GSI Network Troubles 8:39 PST | HeXetic | Print News Along with the 1.03 patch on Sunday, Predator mentioned that there were "ISP issues" causing some havoc with the C&C3; online play servers. Allow me to clue you in: the C&C3; online play servers are run by GameSpy (GSI), along with the C&C3; website. So, when PCNC goes down and you can't get to our forums to complain about it or even get to the Official C&C3; Website to see what's up, there's a pretty good chance that C&C3; online play is not available either, possibly because some monkey stepped on a network cable in GSI's server room (stupid monkeys).
I should also remind you that the power to destroy a thing is the absolute control over it. We can destroy the spice C&C3; online servers, so you will obey my orders or suffer the immediate consequences!
In other news, congratulations to Dario for earning his 3rd Stage Navigator merit badge with the CHOAMScouts of Croatia. Dario holds the record for fastest space-folding in the vicinity of Zagreb's tram system.
Kane left his computer unguarded for a few moments, I took the liberty of releasing a few of his emails to the world. You can gauge a lot about someone from the emails they receive.
Win Some Pounds 13:14 PST | Dario | Print News (Thanks CnC World) If you think you got the skills (and happen to live in the UK) you might want to check Multiplay's i30, one of UK's largest LAN parties. Among the games played is C&C; 3 and you can win some really nice cash prizes and t-shirts.
Pictures Needed! Now! 13:05 PST | Dario | Print News We're running very low on pictures for our Pic of the Day, which is quite odd considering that C&C; 3 has just been released and you guys probably had plenty of opportunities to take funny, interesting in-game screenshots. We'd like to post them right here on our front page, so send them over to submissions@planetcnc.gamespy.com, although using the upload form is preferred because it simplifies the entire process.
PCNC Reviews C&C3;! 17:36 PST | HeXetic | Print News Well, we had our bit of fun with our April Fool's gag (see MVerdu's newsitem two posts down), didn't we? I know you guys were hoping for a bit more from us, but the plain truth is that the reason we don't have any spectacular gag for you guys today is simply because everyone here at PCNC was too damn busy with all our C&C3-related; stuff to pay attention to April Fool's day!
If you've seen the movie 'Hellboy', the first 15 minutes show what type of setting we're aiming for; Nazi's, Daemons, the Church, etc. We currently have three factions planned; the Nazi Occult, the Allied Freemasons, and the Catholic Church. I won't reveal much at this time, but the campaign we have planned will follow the three factions as they race around the world hunting holy relics.
Sounds like some good old-fashioned Good VS Evil action is coming our way. Check out the full announcement at Derelictstudios.net.

Electronic Arts completes merger with PlanetCnC.com
Los Angeles, California. 1st April 2007. Electronic Arts completes its long-awaited purchase of long-lasting community website PlanetCnC.com
"We've been looking into expanding into diversification, both traditional media and online content, those time-tested mediums of entertainment..." said EA executive Mike Verdu as preliminary details of the merger-slash-takeover were released to agencies yesterday. "We desire to entertain all peoples of the world, be it through the traditional repetitive identikit Madden football games stocking the shelves at GameStop, or through mere printed text. Our acquisition of PlanetCnC should help us realise our goals of total world domination of the entertainment industry."
Asked whether this was just a sly plot to silence criticisms of the company by buying out their chief detractors, Verdu denied all accusations, before coughing loudly and straightening his tie.
Critically acclaimed psycic Dario Djuric, PlanetCnC site director, was quoted as saying "We all feel this relationship can only lead to better and more engaging content", but failed to mention any possibility of indiscriminate in-site adverts, a recent innovation populised by the Battlefield 2 fansite, PlanetBattlefield, which was consolidated by EA mere months ago, followed by the immediate laying off of the entire editorial staff, leaving only the site janitor.
Seen by the sidelines in the press room were Mr. Djuric's former site aides, Mr. Cooper, Rees, and Gokcen, they all said they had "no comment at this time... we've had gag orders placed against us".
