MotorStorm a Triple Threat
11:10 | by Evan
Evolution Studios is celebrating its success as MotorStorm, its thrilling off-road racing game, scores a PlayStation 3 hat-trick in the Japanese, European and United States Charts.

MotorStorm was launched alongside the launch of the PS3 in all three territories, and follows the game’s success in Japan and the United States where it also topped the PS3 Chart on its release.

“To see MotorStorm top the European, the Japanese and the US PlayStation 3 charts is just fantastic,” says Martin Kenwright, CEO Evolution Studios.

“Developing MotorStorm to a standard we were all happy with was certainly a challenge – but the team here really delivered. Evolution has a reputation for delivering high quality racing titles, but the consensus was to come up with something really special for Sony’s new hardware. We’re delighted that the public has agreed with the press and made MotorStorm a worldwide number one PLAYSTATION 3 title.”

Evolution Studios already has an excellent pedigree in racing games having produced the highly acclaimed World Rally Championship series.

Mario Strikers: Charged Football In May (Wii)
11:54 | by Evan
Nintendo has taken one of the world’s most popular sports and made it even better by throwing in some of Nintendo’s most popular characters, 5-a-side teams and well and truly throwing out the rulebook in Mario Strikers: Charged Football!

Mario Strikers: Charged Football is different from the average football game and is even more exciting and engaging than ever before, with a strong emphasis on each team’s captain. These star players each have unique abilities and enhanced skills, which allow them to really influence the outcome of a game. The team captains all feature a Super Ability which can be used to devastate their opponents, ranging from Mario growing to giant proportions and trampling other players, to Peach taking a photo and freezing the entire opposing team on the spot. Tactical use of these super abilities can break down even the most stubborn defence. To top this off, in Mario Strikers: Charged Football players can choose 3 side-kicks (from a total of 8) who each have their own unique features which allows for tactical team customisation.

The game kicks off across Europe on Wii on May 25th, 2007.

With Virtua Tennis 3, we're offered a new iteration of the series complete with a healthy career mode, a nice variety of mini-games, solid visuals and the core gameplay that we've come to know and love.
