Lordy, lordy, is it time for bed yet? On top of it being Beer Can Appreciation Day, which is quite tiring in itself, I've been up all night. My brother and sister inlaw had a baby at the wee hour of ridiculous o'clock. Baby girl is surprisingly un-purple. Most babies looks like grape apes when they're first born. Anyhoo, I'm an aunt now. Sounds so old and official. Good thing it's Compliment Day, so you can all tell me how young and vibrant I am! Hmm, then again, it's also Belly Laugh Day. Today's birthdays... Hello, Guten Morgen and Happy Blonde Brownie Day! I'm not sure what to say about that one. Blonde Brownie. The first thing that my mind's eye saw was blonde hair in an otherwise perfectly good brownie. Until I saw this picture. No wait, they still sound gross. Today is also Answer Your Cat's Questions Day! I'm sure it has many nagging questions. Like, why do you keep feeding me this slop? Why do you make me crap in a box? Why does your country not recognize me as its rightful King or Queen, etc. Birthdays: Linda Blair (48), Steve Perry (58), Sir Francis Bacon (446) and Diane Lane (42). Okay bye.

Pretend It's News Comment!

I was reading an article on Call of Duty 3, and they made a point in it that I felt the need to stop and ponder...

As perpetual enemies of freedom, the Nazis represent the quintessential bad guy in the 20th century...

But gamers have already had plenty of chances to kill Nazis. They have been a staple in the gaming world as far back as "Castle Wolfenstein" on the Apple II because no one feels bad about killing them.

Seriously, what other group of people is so universally reviled? By now I must have killed more Nazis than the Allied Forces did in the actual war.
I'm no expert on how many Nazis were killed in the actual war, but he makes an interesting point... and our reign of nazi-killing terror is not anywhere near over yet, especially with Castle Wolfenstein 2 in development!

Final Version of Haunted Mansion Map Comment!

CyburK has released the final version of his Haunted Mansion level for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Here's the map's rather odd storyline:

Axis Forces are very short on war cash and have stolen Leprechaun's Gold. Allied Captain O´Mealy is commanded to return the gold before the Axis escape, or else a terrible curse will fall on his men and all beer in the Country will be turned into vinegar.
Yes, it's true, don't let the beer get turned in to vinegar! Check out the objectives, screenshots, and give Haunted Mansion a download here.
