Creating our Holiday Extravaganza totally drained us of energy. Yet, somehow we put together this "mini-episode" of the show! We take this opportunity to do a little housekeeping. MrBubble tells us about his own "Secret Santa" experience and we give you some insight into how we came up with the SOE Secret Santa bit for our Holiday Extravaganza. (Which you should download right now if you haven't yet!)
The socket bonus applies to sub-professions that can make weapons, armor, and clothing. If a sub-profession cannot make one of those three (such as a Droid Engineer), then the expertise point grants your character a schematic or group of schematics.
The item upgrade allows for more sockets in an attachment. If your sub-profession cannot make armor, weapons, or clothing, then a schematic or group of schematics are granted.
The layout works as follows:
Profession #1 for Domestics would be Chef
Thus Profession #1 Dexterity would be called Chef Dexterity and its bonuses would apply to that sub-profession.
Profession #2 for Domestics would be Tailor
Thus Profession #2 Dexterity would be called Tailor Dexterity and its bonuses would apply to that sub-profession.

Officer ranked GCW armor sets and weapons will no longer be unique so that you may display them in your house.
The Imperial White Spec Ops Armor Gloves will now actually be white instead of black.
Items

When a creature is killed, the corpse will now be removed as your intended target. It may be re-targeted if you like.
User Interface
Role-players can now have a role playing available to display over their character similar to Helper or LFG.
Deleting items when a macro is running will no longer cause the wrong item to be deleted.
Expertise: The Expertise window has been modified so that the requirements are completely displayed.
I'm testing out Chef schematics in combination with additives. I've not found anything broken with them. There are so many combinations that I am unable to test them all, prior to making a decision to put them into the expertise tree (IE: they are not a final solution, yet).
If you know of any broken schematics due to these additives, please post which ones are broken and how they are broken. Simply stating "this is broken" is not very constructive...
All other posts will be ignored as I'm not looking for any other information in this thread.
From time to time reminders about keeping your account secure are a good thing. So here is SOEs policy about Account Security and some useful tips on how to keep your account secure.
As the population of online internet gaming increases, so do issues regarding stolen or compromised accounts, and/or accounts that have been transferred from one player to another in violation of the User Agreement. This also applies to the amount of issues relating to Accounts that have had their login information "shared" with friends, relatives, and Guild members. These issues (and the time it takes to investigate and attempt to resolve them) hugely detract from the time that SOE's Customer Support staff have to provide quality customer service. Accordingly, SOE must remind all customers that:
(1) Account security is the responsibility of the account owner. This includes password protection, running virus checks, disabling file sharing, or any other means of checking that the owner's account has not been stolen or compromised.
(2) Any and all stolen, compromised, or shared accounts that are reported to SOE may be *suspended* in order to conduct an investigation and prevent further malicious acts upon the accounts in question. If characters on the account are deleted maliciously by someone, or items and coin removed from a character, a Customer Service Representative may offer a "character-restore." This will restore the player's character to its most recent backup if a backup is available. Experience points, items, etc, that are lost due to this type of character restoration will not be reimbursed. Please understand that once characters are deleted from an account, SOE does not guarantee they can be restored.
This character-restore service will only be offered once per player account. Subsequent occurrences of character deletion or item/coin/experience loss due to account theft, compromised accounts, or sharing of account information will not be reimbursed.
If a player account has been stolen or compromised, he or she must first recover the account by following the Account Recovery Procedure (detailed here) and then submit a Customer Service help-ticket immediately. Note: Due to the availability of character backups, Customer Service may be unable to help if the request for assistance is not received within a reasonable amount of time.
(3) Any customer found to be involved in an account theft may have any and all of his/her accounts banned. Prior to taking any action against accounts reported as compromised, SOE will conduct a thorough review of the accounts and determine the appropriate course of action. Accounts will only face disciplinary action based on information gathered through our investigation and not as a result of external allegations.
Account Security Tips
We strongly recommend that you change your current password periodically and keep your registration information updated including choosing a secret question if you have not already done so. Please make sure that you have provided us with your current and valid email address, we will use the email address on record to notify you of any changes or activity regarding your Station account and in retrieving lost passwords (this email address will not be used for marketing purposes unless you specifically opt-in for newsletters and announcements.)
Please remember to NEVER give out or share your Station name or password, including with friends and Guildmates.
Account security reminders:
· Use a unique Station name
· Use an alpha-numeric password consisting of at least 8 characters, a mix of letters, numbers and special characters is best.
· Never use the same word for your Station name and password
· Always create a secret question when prompted (this allows for quicker password recovery and confirmation when needed)
· Keep your registration information, including current email address, up to date in so that we can contact you regarding your account and for retrieving lost passwords.
One last thing to remember, SOE will NEVER ask for your password. If you ever encounter someone claiming to be from SOE in the game, by phone or in email that is asking for your password, do not give it to them!
Real life first name: Jessica
Forum handle: Cynful
Main Character name: Cyn Ful
Server: Kettemoor
Player Association: Oppresseurs De Mal (Oppressors of Evil)
Where in the real life world do you live? Portland, Oregon
How long have you played Star Wars Galaxies? I purchased the game on the day it was released but I could not play until I got a better computer. Therefore, I started playing about a month or so after the game was released.
What other MMOs have you played? Star Wars Galaxies was my first MMO, but I have tried World of Warcraft and Guild Wars.
What type of work do you do? I am a Product Testing Analyst Manager.
How long is your typical gaming session when playing Star Wars Galaxies? I used to play about four to six hours a day and some days I would play all day. In my opinion, the real world interferes too much with my playtime.
What does a typical Star Wars Galaxies day consist of for you? Playing Cyn, I PvP with the Guild or do a few city things as Mayor of Karma on Talus. I help a lot with quests/missions and travel to Mos Eisley to give stuff away to players who I feel are actually new or in need. I have alts in a different "sister" guild and I am the Guild Leader there.
Chapter 4.3 "Armed and Ready for Action!" Publish Notes, January 4th
Combat
Bug Fix: Being incapacitated while mounted on a vehicle will now correctly remove the buffs from the player.
AI: Creatures will no longer attempt to reveal or attack targets that are cloaked through walls and floors.
Heavy Weapon ground targeting should no longer reveal cloaked characters.
/whisper and other forms of "directed spatial" commands should no longer turn your character to face a nearby cloaked character.
Galactic Civil War
Officer ranked GCW armor sets and weapons will no longer be unique so that you may display them in your house.
The Imperial White Spec Ops Armor Gloves will now actually be white instead of black.
The owner of a faction base will no longer be able to destroy a faction base by using the Destroy Structure option while enemy players are in the facility in order to prevent successful attackers from receiving their GCW point rewards for destroying the base.
Note: Enemy players can still blow up the base by slicing the terminals while players are inside the base.
Player bases will no longer grant GCW points if they are destroyed by the owner.
Profession: Medic
Corrected an issue with Stasis that allowed it to be useable at any range, rather then its intended 48m range.
The volume on many medic sound effects has been reduced.
Profession: Smuggler
The delivery timer for the "Delivery to Isbel" has been increased from 6 minutes to 12 minutes.
Profession: Spy
Fixed an issue that would sometimes lock the action bar when clicking Snipe.
Expertise: Without a Trace cool-down should now be 3 minutes with expertise.
Expertise: Using sneak no longer adds 10 seconds to the Without a Trace cool-down.
Expertise: Fixed an issue that would prevent Without a Trace and Smoke Bomb from properly activating.
Targeting
The target status window now always displays the intended target (the green bracket target) as it did prior to Chapter 4.
There is now a new option to enable a secondary target status window which displays the mouse-over target. The option, which is off by default, is in the Interface section and is called "Show a second target status window for the mouse-over target".
The default location is to the right of the existing target status window but can be moved where ever you would prefer. As a result, the default location of the Quest Helper was moved to right side of the screen just under the radar. Your existing layout should not be affected, but the new target status window may need to be moved.
Tip: If you want to re-locate the new targeting window on your screen, the easiest way to do it is to target yourself (/tar self). That way it will stay on the screen and make it easy to click and drag it to where ever you like.
User Interface
Expertise: The Expertise window has been modified so that the requirements are completely displayed.

Topic Of The Week: Entertainer Wanted[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: News This week's topic of the week focuses on the Entertainers and their class. We want to know what current Entertainers are doing to keep themselves busy. What do you think of the currently planned expertise system for the class? Let us know please.
We got back together after a couple of weeks off to bring you the year in review show. We also talk about what we did for Christmas and what we would like to see from SWG in 2007:
Gihren couldn't keep his mouth shut this week and that is a good and bad thing. It is good because it made for interesting discussion. It was bad because it made the show a PG-13 rating.
During this holiday season we spend time with our friends and family, celebrate religious events, and or look forward to a certain jolly elf to bring us gifts (no, not Brenlo ). There's one other thing needed to really put you in the holiday spirit... The "Yivvits & MrBubble Holiday Extravaganza 2006" podcast!
This year we revisit our favorite (and only) Star Wars Christmas album. Listen along as 3PO teaches R2 how to sing, the workshop droids finally figure out what to get a Wookiee for Christmas, and 3PO performs a thoughtful reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas."
Most large companies have some sort of holiday gathering and we assumed SOE is no different. Our assumptions were confirmed when we obtained a super top-secret recording from the event. Smed and Helios exchanged "secret Santa" gifts; need we say more?
We sum up our personal feelings about SWG for 2006 and discuss what we'd like to see happen with the game in the coming year. Finally, we exchange gifts and are humored (or possibly horrified) that we both got each other... Nah, you'll just have to listen to find out!
