Content Spotlight: Age Movies 12:14 PST | Xiphoid | Print News | Mail News Continuing our look at the great content in the PlanetAOE vault, today's Content Spotlight is our Movies section. You'll find trailer movies for each of the games, intro movies, end-game cinematics, in-game footage, and user-created movies. As always, if you have interesting Age content, we'd love to have it in our sections and you can submit it easily after registering on our site.
Patches 1.02 and 1.10 were held up this week in testing. We hope to be able to release the patches next week when test has completed their work on all of the localized versions of these patches. We'll do our best to keep you updated.
Content Spotlight: Age Wallpapers 21:11 PST | Xiphoid | Print News | Mail News We're going to start a regular news update called Content Spotlight, that'll highlight some of the great sections here on PlanetAOE that you may not know about. Today's is our Wallpaper section, which contains over forty great images you can put on your desktop. These were released by Ensemble Studios over the past eight or night years and I think we have most of them. Take a look and hopefully you'll find one you like.
5) If the Military Reforms card for the Dutch was to be nerfed in a future patch, what do you think a balanced speed increase would be for the Halberdier?
A – Maybe 2/3 as much as it is now? What do you think?
6) what was your favorite civ to develop
A – my favorite one to write up was the Aztec (love the Aztecs), but my favorite one to see being tested was probably the Sioux because everyone loved them from the start. Actually, everyone loved the Iroqouis from the start, too, but there was a real excitement about the Sioux, because they were so different and interesting.
7) do you know why the xp bar was changed from a circle (demo) to a bar?
A- so it wouldn’t look like a clock. And so it would take up less space

Inside Mac Games Gives AOE3 8.75 20:11 PST | Xiphoid | Print News | Mail News The Mac gaming site, Inside Mac Games, has given Age of Empires III for the Mac an impressive 8.75 out of 10. The review is pretty thorough, at two pages long and goes over most facets of the game.
For what reason should one buy Age of Empires III? To use the parlance of our times, it absolutely rocks. With its intriguing single-player campaign, competent multiplayer support, gorgeous visuals and lush audio, Age of Empires III is the real deal. In fact, it's my new WarCraft III.
1) if there gonna be a aoe 4 wil u work on it?and do you THINK its gonna back in time or with tanks and stuff
A- I think there will be an Age4 some day. I don’t know if I’ll work on it. There are factions in the company supporting both moving on to the 20th century OR redoing Age 1 or Age 2, so I really am not sure which faction will win out. It’s not like there’s a “bad” choice there – both of those options are appealing to me.
5) how did the balance team come up with the gather rate of food wood and gold?
A – through long and hard play testing and comparison testing. It was one of the first things we tried to focus on and it took months literally to finalize.
13) how ES is going to deal with dutch from all the OP accusations
A – I think that Dutch were weak for SO long, that any increase in their power is perceived as OP, whether or not it’s true. I’m not saying they’re not OP, just saying that time will tell and it’s too early to be sure.
