World of WarCraft: The Burning Crusade is now live! Magic 8-ball tells me that the number of people calling sick into work today will rival the casualties of the black plague in the 1340's. The good news is that I finished that Most Wanted Sequels feature so I can play a few hours without feeling too guilty. I just need to wrangle up some art for it, so look for that later today. We can tie the new poll into that sucker too.

Today's question:

What's the last game you called in sick to play?

WoW: Burning Crusade CE In the House! 04:33 pm - Robert 'Apache' Howarth - Games: MMOG (25 comments)
A big wet one goes to Blizzard for sending us the World of WarCraft: Burning Crusade Collecter's Edition on the eve of the expansion's big launch. The servers won't be live for a few hours yet, so take a gander at some lovely box-art porn we snapped off from the Voodoo villa located in Sunny Arizona.

It includes:
-Behind the scenes DVD
-Soundtrack
-Hard Cover Art book
-The game itself on DVD and CDROM
-Trading Cards
-Mouse pad
-A couple guest passes
-Manual
-In-game pet

Cactus not included.

According to the countdown clock on the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. website, the ever-so-delayed game will be released on March 22nd.

Gabe Newell Roasts Sony & PS3 09:26 am - Andrew Burnes - Games: General News (62 comments)
Valve's Gabe Newell has described the Playstation 3 as "a total disaster" in a Game Informer interview, reports MCV, and suggested that Sony stop selling the system and go back to the drawing board:

"The PS3 is a total disaster on so many levels, I think It's really clear that Sony lost track of what customers and what developers wanted," said Newell. "I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a 'do over'. Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it.'"

While you may not be seeing Half-Life 2 on the Playstation 3, don't discount Valve doing something for the Wii if Gabe's love for the system is anything to go by:

Newell reserved special praise for the Wii, which he said would outsell Microsoft's Xbox 360 by next Christmas.

"The happy story is the Wii," he added. "I'm betting that by Christmas of next year, the Wii has a larger installed base than the 360. Other people think I'm crazy. I really like everything that Nintendo is doing."

Rome was pretty good last night. HBO has been a bit dry since Deadwood ended. New season of 24 too!

Today's question:

What games, if any, do you think would make good tv shows?
