Happy 2007 Diablo Fans! Tuesday, January 2, 2007, 10:29 | TheAcolyte
| Welcome, everyone, to the New Year. This one could be very exciting for Diablo fans, now that the franchise is ten years old.
Still, the only title officially on Blizzard's radar is the soon to be released expansion set for World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade. Don't miss the introduction cinematic to the add-on game, which Blizzard posted online last month.

Ten Years of Diablo and Battle.net Friday, December 29, 2006, 10:16 | TheAcolyte
| Comment! For the tenth anniversary of both Diablo and Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment published a retrospective article on the history of the game series and the free gaming service it provides exclusively for some of its titles.
Both the original game and the game service launched together, as Diablo was the first title to integrate the Battle.net service.
The retrospective goes on to review Battle.net's evolution through the integration of StarCraft, Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition, and Warcraft III.
One of Diablos most important features is its robust online multiplayer component. The game was launched concurrently with Battle.net, Blizzards multiplayer online gaming service. It was the first proprietary online gaming service released by a game developer that was integrated into its games themselves, and Diablo was the first game to utilize the service.

Blizzard's Two Holiday Contests Thursday, December 14, 2006, 10:04 | TheAcolyte
| Comment! Blizzard Entertainment is running two contests for the holiday season, including a World of Warcraft screenshot competition and a Blizzard game-themed cookie competition.
Yes, Blizzard is challenging you to make the best looking holiday cookie themed on its games. Luckily, you only have to send in a photo, and not the actual goodies. Surely the developers would enjoy the latter, however.
Five winners per contest will receive one autographed copy of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade when the expansion set debuts.
Entries are accepted now until December 27.

Mod Review: D2:Elements v1.01 Sunday, December 3, 2006, 18:53 | TheAcolyte
| The Phrozen Keep has a succinct new review of the D2:Elements mod for Patch 1.10 Lord of Destruction. Overall it is positive, and describes the mod as "carefully balanced and polished" but with a few shortcomings.
D2:elements is a heavily underrated, but quite well done mod. It doesn't change much skillwise, nor does it introduce new monster-gfx or other funky stuff. It changes the overall balance, items and the skillsystem, which leads to a much more polished gaming experience. It is working under 1.10.
