Founded in 1996, has fulfilled its initial goal of producing an entertaining, physics-true, real-time, 3D sword PC game called Die By The Sword. Since its conception, Treyarch has developed a wide variety of games ranging from Nintendo 64 to PC as well as later consoles from all manufacturers.

On October 3, mega-publisher Activision announced its acquisition of Treyarch -- and the company, headed up by president don Likeness, became a wholly owned subsidiary. Treyarch has approximately 140 employees.
