The Sims on the Nintendo Wii 19:27 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News A brand new Sims title was announced at the end of last month in Tokyo, Japan. It will be an exclusive title for the Nintendo Wii, and already a website has been launched about it (however, it is completely in Japanese): http://boku-sim.jp/. Keep visiting for more information in the near future.
Weekly Poll 18:59 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News Last week's poll asked you about the real-life models you've used to create Sims. With the exceptions of politicians, academics, and your boss, votes were pretty evenly spread across the options. However, the most popular option was "Myself" - I have to admit, I have created Sims in my name multiple times in the past!
With Christmas just around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate for this week's poll to have a theme of "giving". This week I'm asking who you've bought Sims titles for in the past, as any sort of present. There is a wide variety of options to vote for, so make sure you vote as soon as you can on our front page!

Picks of the Week 18:46 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News Unfortunately there were only two submissions over the last week, but this feature isn't going to die! I think you will agree that these objects are definitely worth featuring again anyway:
MaxoidMoonBelly's Blog Update 19:21 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News MaxoidMoonBelly of the official site updated her blog on Friday, in which she talked about the next expansion pack, the problems at the official exchange, and the "Played By Campaign". Check out her blog post here.
What's new in the sims world? Lots of amazing progress has been made for the next EP !! I contributed some walls and floors to the art side, and I am thrilled to see they made it into the game! :-) The objects you are all going to just love! I built a house and decorated it for the new neighborhood and using just the base game and this EP, there were a TON of options!!! I can't specifically mention anything or spill any beans whatsoever, but let's just say the WHOLE house had a little something new in every room!!! :-)

Weekly Poll 16:30 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News Last week's poll had a predictable result. We asked you which skill you always build up first when you gain control over a new Sim - the most popular answer of course was cooking, with 38 votes! Logic, cleaning, and charisma only got one vote each. After all, being a charismatic, logical, and hygienic person is useless if your oven burns down whenever you touch it!
This week's poll is for the creative people out there, who model their Sims after people and characters in our world (aka real-life). I'm particularly interested in whether anyone has actually turned their boss into a Sim... if you're one of those people, e-mail me and let me know what fate your boss met in the virtual world! The poll is on our front page, get voting!
NPD Group Report 18:46 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News I got hold of the latest NPD Group report today, which covers the top-selling PC software between November 5 and November 11. The latest expansion pack, and the latest "Stuff Pack" are both in the top 10, alongside the base game. It's good to see the franchise continuing to do so well. Desperate Housewives stood no chance against the might of The Sims 2!

Picks of the Week 20:33 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News Not as many items as usual were submitted over the past week, but out of the ones which were submitted, here are my favourite three:
Blog Update 17:54 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News MaxoidMoonBelly has updated her blog at the official site. She talks about the next expansion pack for The Sims 2, and describes how excited the team at EA are about the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. Read the blog here!
There is a lot of excitment going around with the release of the PS3 and the Wii too - a lot of the people here at EA are very excited about both platforms and looking forward to getting their hand on them! Someone did manage to get a Wii today, and they brought it into our lounge area and there is a big group checking it out!
The Sims Zone: Happy Birthday! 18:51 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News The Sims Zone, a popular fan site for the Sims franchise, is celebrating their fifth birthday. As part of the celebrations, ChEeTaH created an article outlining the history of the site and plans for the future, as well as giving thanks to those who've contributed to the site over the years.
We at Planet The Sims wish them a very happy (now actually belated) birthday, and hope that the site goes strong for another five years!
Weekly Poll 22:34 PST | lufiaguy | Print News | Mail News Last week we asked a little more than thirty of you in a poll what you thought about working for Maxis as a job. The most popular option, with 19 votes, was: "Absolutely, I would love to be paid to work with my favourite game!"
This week we're more interested in your Sim - what's the first skill you build up the moment you meet them? Vote here!
PS - please accept my apologies, but the weekly poll this week will be delayed until tomorrow. If you haven't voted on last week's poll just yet, you've got an extra 24 hours to get round to it!
You know you've been playing The Sims too much when your dreams start taking place in your Sim's house, and everybody in there has little thought bubbles above their heads! More >
