Elves - 163
Dwarves - 62
Isengard - 50
Mordor - 99
Goblins - 25
Angmar - 286
Total Votes: 945
Wow, I have to say my predictions were correct. I almost thought Men of the West were going to win. I am almost willing to be most of the Angmar votes came from players who liked Dwarves or MOTW before. Over all I am glad to see Angmar is a popular faction now.

Rise of the Witch-King Community Summit Presentation & Preview Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. - MEV - Community With Rise of the Witch-King coming out in the next few days, I thought I'd share with you some of the stuff that occurred during the Rise of the Witch-King community summit two weeks ago. During the event we had a chance to get a hands-on with the final build, and we tried out everything the game has to offer. Without further ado, here's the two articles I've written from the summit:
First up is a summary of EA's Rise of the Witch-King presentation. Straight from their slides to your computer screen, it gives a great look at what has changed in Rise of the Witch-King, and what new content you can expect.
Next up is my review of the event. In it, I catalogue the events of the trip and go into detail about my time with the game. Needless to say, I came out very impressed with the game, and I am sure you will too (unless you hate fun). So be sure to check it out, and discuss the game or any questions you have (I'll try to answer them) in the forums.
Keep your eyes here at Middle Earth Vault for Joker17's coverage, along with my podcast interview with Amir Rahimi, the game's producer.

The video tells us just about everything that is going to be added and adjusted in CAH within the expansion pack. It will also show us how the new Troll class will function within the game. I think I will agree with Amiri on the Jumping Troll as it is my new favorite feature for CAH. To watch the video click here or head ob over to IGNs site to watch it here

One Faction To Rule Tham All Poll Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. - B4ME2 - B4ME This weeks poll is to find out which faction you think will rule the new Middle Earth. "What Faction Will Rule Middle Earth?" Make sure to vote on the right under the tall ad. As for last week, the results are:
Who is your favorite Angmar hero?
The Witch-king of Angmar - 360
Rogash - 104
Morgomir - 55
Kharsh - 47
Hwaldar ("the Brigand") - 29
Total Votes: 595
I can honestly say I saw these results coming. I figured The Witch-King and Rogash would be the top 2, but I never thought Morgomir would have made 3rd.
FiringSquad: What are some of the dev team's favorite new units in Rise of the Witch-King?
Amir Rahimi: In the Rise of the Witch-king, a new type of unit is introduced that is called the Mini-Hero Horde. These are highly elite units that have some characteristics of heroes and some characteristics of hordes. Like heroes, they have special abilities that become available as they level up and they auto heal when theyre not in combat, but like hordes they are built from production buildings and come in groups rather than single units. Each existing BFME2 faction gets one Mini-Hero Horde. The most popular among the dev team is the Men of the Wests Knights of Dol Amroth; a highly elite group of cavalry. At level 2 the Knights give a leadership buff to surrounding cavalry and at level 7, they become highly invulnerable and can crush and kill most other units for a certain period of time.
Battle for Middle Earth 2 Rise of the Witch-King MEV Podcast Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. - Community - MEV On November 17th MEV was able to head down to EALA for the Rise of the Witch-King Community Summit. During the time while MEV was there, we were able to snag a Podcast interview with Producer Amir Rahimi & Lead Development Director Jill Donald. The Interview runs for about 11 minutes and covers most of the new features within BFME2 Rise of the Witch-King. To note, the interview caught me off guard during the summit so I wasn't 100% prepared for the interview. But in any case to download and listen to MEVs interview podcast head on over to this link.
IGN Rise of the Witch King Video Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. IGN has posted a video showing most of the new faction units in game. Peter Jackson Says Farewell! Print News | Mail News | Category: LOTR - MEV - Community With New Line trying to muscle Peter Jackson into doing the Hobbit, both parties seem to have agreed to not move forward and New Line is now looking for a new directing team for the Hobbit movie. Here is a small clip of the letter Peter Jackson has written to The Ringers:
Dear One Ringers,
As you know, there's been a lot of speculation about The Hobbit. We are often asked about when or if this film will ever be made. We have always responded that we would be very interested in making the film - if it were offered to us to make.
Battle for Middle Earth 2 Rise of the Witch-King Price Rumor! Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. - Community It is time to shot down the price rumor that has started with the press release announcing BFME2 Rise of the Witch-king went GOLD. The price in the press release states a retail shipping price of $39.95 USD which is a flat out lie and is not true. I have done my own price hunting at all the major US retailers and even at EA online store and have found that not one store has the game listed for over $29.99 USD. Here are the sites I checked so you can see for yourself.
MEVault Back from EA! Print News | Mail News | Category: BFME2 Exp. - MEV Today is the final morning of the Rise of the Witch-King summit, I have packed my things and have written pages upon pages of info about BFME2: Rise of the Witch-King, and have been writing my overall thoughts and feelings about EA's new expansion pack in a comprehensive review. For a brief overview I can say the game impressed me more than I thought it would. I still am a bit disappointed War of the Ring only offers slots for 2 human players, but if I take all the other improvements to the game in mind, they easily overshadow that issue and the few others I will express in my review. The new campaign is much more interactive and offers a huge challenge overall from the previous BFME1 & BFME2 campaigns. I can honestly say EA has listened to the community when they made Rise of the Witch-King and the game really shows it. For the time being if you have any outstanding questions about BFME2: Rise of the Witch-King please post them here, and I will answer the ones I can.
