We have just added two more pages to the Troll Compendium. Learn more about the ice trolls and their tribes. Uncover the history of the Drakkari, the Frostmane, and the Winterax tribes.
We will be updating this section regularly so keep an eye on it for more information.
Our operations team have been working diligently to identify the issues that are preventing some players from seeing their characters at one of our hosting facilities.
The issue has been tracked down to a set of IP blocks that are being "black holed" from the Blizzard Server Network that hosts these particular realms.
With the help from our ISP we have been contacting the responsible parties and notifying them of the situation. The latest update we had from responsible parties was that they would resume troubleshooting today.
WoW Detox[ 18 Comments ] Print News | Mail News Check out this fun little site that allows you to list your reason for leaving. As expected though, it has taken on a more humor side of things. Go check out WoW Detox.
The review is well underway and we wanted to share a sort of first glimpse into the changes being made for the rogue talent review. Keep in mind that these changes are not complete or final, and the below information is likely to alter as we move into our testing phases. While not everything is listed, the below list encompasses the majority of changes being made in the review.
I'll be working in the weeks to come to get as much additional information as possible, but it is likely that quite a bit of the final information regarding talent changes will not be fully announced until the talent calculators go live. Of course you'll also be able to actually play around with the changes too once the Public Test Realms go up.
Eight more realms are eligible for the Paid Character Transfer. You can now transfer characters off of these realms:
Burning Blade
Durotan
Earthen Ring
Elune
Laughing Skull
Lothar
Medivh
Shadow Moon
For a full list of eligible realms, please click here. We will continue to scale up the list of realms to accommodate more players as quickly as possible.
While I spent some time in last weeks column talking about my initial patching experiences, I decided to wait a week and fully experience the content before discussing the actual content of Patch 1.11. To sum it up, I am impressed by the Scourge Invasion event, and I am actually enjoying it extensively. While I am enjoying it, I naturally have found a few issues that irk me. Minor issues aside, I would have to give Blizzard a B rating on this event.
The first thing I noticed when I logged in after finally getting the patch installed was a giant floating Necropolis outside of Ironforge. Yes, true to the rumors, the Scourge is making its presence visible across the game world. Argent Dawn representatives are pointing players towards the Eastern Plaguelands, where the Argent Dawn base is suddenly populated, has a mailbox, and has a ton of Invasion quests. The quests, which range from killing Invasion bosses to gathering, all give players some form of reward. Some rewards, such as gloves that give bonuses against undead, are obtainable through simple turn-ins.
UPDATE: Yesterdays hotfix was pulled at the last moment because QA found it caused 2 other critical issues just prior to being deployed. We are working to fix those up and deploy the hotfix for "The Great Masquerade" as soon as it works without a problem. Testing this takes some time so please bear with us.
OLD: This quest has been hotfixed on the live servers this afternoon. Please keep posts to this thread if you experience any further problems and we'll look into them immediately.
Chinese Elf in World of Warcraft Sucks[ 52 Comments ] Print News | Mail News Spong is reporting on a bit of interesting news for Chinese located World of Warcraft players that might be a bit shocking. Seems they have a time limit to play the game every day. Go check it out...
You might not be aware of this, but the ever-autocratic Chinese government has had a system in place since last August preventing individuals from playing online games for more than three consecutive hours.
The system, by law, is installed in every online game in the country. It works by cutting the ability level of a player's online game character by half after he or she has played for more than three consecutive hours. After five consecutive hours of play, the system cuts the ability level of that player's character to the lowest level allowed by the game. Players have to log off for a minimum of five hours before the system resets.
Escape Artist now displays a message in the combat log when it fails.
Significant changes to the battleground Deserter debuff. The debuff should no longer be applied to characters incorrectly.
The Omen of Clarity talent now lasts 10 minutes. The tooltip does not yet correctly reflect the new longer duration, and will be updated in a future patch.
Evocation - Cool down reduced to 8 minutes.
Pyroblast - Cool down removed.
Frostbrand and Flametongue weapon buffs are benefited by +spell damage.
