Overview

The EVDB Web Services API allows you to build tools and applications that interact with EVDB, the Events & Venues Database.

November 2005 NOTE: Recent substantial updates to API methods may affect any and all applications using the API. Every effort has been made to preserve backward compatibility with documented methods, but some API clients may need to be updated in order to handle the new functionality gracefully. We attempt to keep our API documentation up to date with all the latest changes, but please consider the parameters and return values of all API methods to be subject to change.

Getting Started

  1. Request an application key.
  2. Join the developer discussion.
  3. Read our API documentation.
  4. Install an interface library.
  5. Go make something cool!

Documentation

Get complete details on how to use the EVDB API for your application. Includes method names, arguments, output parameters, and error parameters.

Application Keys

New application developers should request an application key before beginning any development. (A key is required for each application developed with EVDB.)

Interface Libraries

EVDB API interface libraries are available (or in active development) for a number of programming languages. Each library provides a simple mechanism for authenticating users, invoking API methods, and processing the results.

If you'd like to request an EVDB API interface library in your favorite language—or you've written one of your own—please post a message to the API Developers mailing list.

Developer Mailing List

Our API Developers mailing list is a great way to get feedback from other EVDB developers.

To sign up: send an email to api-developers-subscribe@evdb.com.

To unsubscribe: send an email to api-developers-unsubscribe@evdb.com.

An archive of the list is available from Gmane in a number of formats, including an NNTP news feed and a set of RSS feeds.
